Teach Me Fiddle

Day 22.

Irish Folk Music is something you need to see live.

I went out with Sara, Kycie, Leanne, and Sarah with our Prof. Huntsberger to an Irish pub called The Cobblestone. We first were starving so we left and miraculously found a little restaurant with a cuisine that was undeterminable. I want to say it was an Italian or Mediterranean restaurant that also served vegan dumplings for Chinese New Year.

We finally got to the pub for some tunes, and some people left (they were so close to hearing some music). I stayed and the music was awesome! The Irish Folk music is so simplistic in arrangement and so exposed as an artist. With runs like that, it could be easily known if someone was off in the slightest. I also like the instrumentation of folk music with the violin/fiddle, and flutes. The flutes were black with is interesting because I have never seen a black flute before. New stuff.

I really like the music scene and here in the UK it is easier because most artists start their journeys in a bar or pub setting. In America, I am not 21 (yet!!!) so it is harder to see acts and stuff like that because of the age restriction. These artists were great and it was a really chill, fun way to spend a night in Dublin.
