Day 16

Television, that’s enough said.

Going to School. TV Studio at the Mass Comm department.

At the University of lincoln’s

media department, their video studio is amazing. Becky, a student working on her documentary for the end of the term, took some time to show us around the studio. As you can see from the photos, it is perfect. It is massive compared to the one we have at our college.

We each had turns (if we wanted) being the on screen reporters and the teleprompter monitor. At my college, the teleprompter does not work as smooth as this one so this one was so refreshing. I mainly did that because behind the scenes has always been my speed.

One nerdy great thing, was the green screen technology is just like real studios. The edges of the green wall makes the edges into curves. When filming the curved edges (just think skateboard ramp) make the room appear larger. If a person needs a full body in a green screen, those curved edges help a lot.

Beck let me man (kind of) the Tricaster, which is a program that allows a board and computer elements. That piece of technology is so useful. It controls everything, and there was a preview setting.
